You’ve got 3 opponents and the first one you meet is allied with another – they’ll both declare war on you as soon as you enter their domain. The second mission ramps up the difficulty significantly, though. The game starts by giving you some simple objectives and some starting units that are reasonably suited for the task. The first mission of the Elven Court campaign isn’t that bad. When you first start Age of Wonders 3, the game suggests you do the Elven Court campaign. Unfortunately, I didn’t feel like the first couple of missions taught me well enough to survive, so I’ve put together this guide to help other players out. I grabbed it during the Steam winter sale, and I’m just now cracking it open and trying to figure it out. Age of Wonders 3 shares a lot of similarities with these two series, and it came with a high recommendation from a friend. I’ve played a lot of Civilization, and I’ve played a fair bit of Heroes of Might and Magic over the years.
